மலரின் தேனை குடித்துச் செல்ல
பூமியின் வண்ணம் பூசிக் கொள்ள
இன்று என்னுள் ஓர் ஆசை
அச்சமின்றி போர் செய்ய
கூச்சமின்றி காதல் செய்ய
வெட்கமின்றி மெய் பேச
தூக்கமின்றி வினை செய்ய
இன்று என்னுள் ஓர் ஆசை
பாதை மாறி நடந்து போக
முறைகள் சாத்திரம் நீங்கிப் போக
தோற்றமில்லா அகம் வளர்க்க
ஆம்! நானும் ஒரு பெண் தான்…
நல்ல முதல் முயற்சி. ‘சித்திரமும் கைப்பழக்கம் செந்தமிழும் நாப்பழக்கம்’ என்பார்கள். தங்கள் நாவிலும் கையிலும் பழகி வந்தால் செந்தமிழ் சித்திரம் பல உருவாகும்.

This doesn’t feel like a first attempt for you in tamizh poetry! The wild beauty of the emotions and feelings are expressed in sweet tamizh.

Thank you.. you know, it is not really an attempt.. I believe insights come in specific languages.. that is why I feel it must a wonderful thing to learn as many languages as possible for then you would be able to express anything you wanted…

I had to have someone read this out to me and I was amazed at your command over the language. As Parvatiji mentioned, I too feel this is not your first attempt at writing in this language. Don’t tell me your husband is such an influence on you!!
Well, Sriram did help me with many of the words! but then, I cannot always write in tamil.. only when ‘ the moment’ strikes- at other times, my vocabulary is non-existent!
